“She turned her pain into art. The brushstrokes of her life became her masterpiece.”

We all have a story to tell. As an artist, the depths of my story are illuminated by the beauty that comes from pain. Chronic illness brings about a perspective most will never understand. Life is different for the chronically ill. I want to give voice to the sufferer and the beauty each possesses. What follows are some of the pieces of art I have created during the depths of depression and pain. There is a story behind each. Click on the pictures for a deeper understanding of where I was at when I made each piece. They illuminate what words could not express.

“As a sufferer, art is therapy. It’s my way to express my feelings and unleash my emotions. Both the happy and sad, the good and the bad come out in what I create.”

— Erin

“Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, and dreams are forever”

- Walt Disney

playfully quaint or fanciful, especially in an appealing and amusing way.

One very unexpected, yet very welcomed, element of my chronic pain has been the re-discovery of my childhood passion for the whimsical and fanciful - dreaming during the day and creating joy that often escapes us after adolescences. Fighting the urge to suppress the inner child has led to much of what you will see below. If anything strikes your fancy, most of what you see below is for sale on my Etsy store. If you have a childhood fantasy that you want help turning into a work of art, I do custom work too!

Where I create

Having a space dedicated to creativity is essential. Inspiration is key. I surround myself with what brings about joy and happiness. I believe the creativity we have as children is locked away somewhere inside us and it needs to be ushered out as we move into adulthood. Every day I sit in this space, my inner child comes out and I find the freedom to dream and create.
